The Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is delighted to announce the appointment of George Nazi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 2 June 2024.
With over three decades of experience, George is a distinguished leader who has played an instrumental role in driving transformative growth and operational excellence within the AI, TMT and cloud industries.
As the CEO of SCAI, he will lead the company's efforts to unlock the potential of AI and emerging technologies, transforming Saudi Arabia into a global hub for innovation in alignment with PIF's strategy and Vision 2030 goals. Expressing his pride and delight over assuming the role, George said: "I am honored to join SCAI at such a pivotal moment. Together, we will harness the power of AI and emerging technologies to not only transform the technology landscape of Saudi Arabia but also to establish it as a global leader in innovation. Before joining SCAI, George served as the Global Vice President for The Telecom, Media & Entertainment, and Gaming industries at Google Cloud, where he spearheaded visionary strategies across four regions, developed high-performing teams from the ground up, and expanded revenue.
Prior to his tenure at Google, George held significant roles at Accenture, a Fortune Global 500 professional services company, where he served as Senior Managing Director for the Global Comms & Media Industry. There, George oversaw large professional services organizations. During his tenure, he also devised new solution offerings and developed targeted go-to-market strategies.
George's career also includes senior executive positions at Alcatel-Lucent and British Telecom, where he led large-scale transformation programs, optimized operational efficiency, and managed complex portfolios of products and services.
George holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering where he specialized in AI and Artificial Neural Networks from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma in the USA.

The Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced its strategic alliance with Saudi Telecom Company (stc) and Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company (Tahakom) for their collaboration on the launch of the “Sawaher” platform, a program initiated by The Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), in addition to establishing executive office. The program aimed to elevate the level of safety across the Kingdom’s cities by harnessing AI technologies and smart analytics capabilities.

A memorandum in this regard has been signed during the two-day Global Smart City Forum, that concluded today, by Eng. Abdulaziz Al Muammar, the CEO for SCAI, Eng. Riad Saeed Moawad, the CEO for the STC group business unit, and Eng. Mohammed Mansour Al-Barak the Deputy Chief for business development and partnerships at the Saudi Security Comprehensive Control Company (Tahakom).

King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC) and the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) have announced their partnership to implement a new smart city project that will help revolutionize the district’s future operations. Signed by Gautam Sashittal, CEO of KAFD DMC and Abdulaziz Almuammar, Interim CEO of SCAI, the wholly owned Public Investment Fund (PIF) subsidiaries will roll out smart traffic and mobility solutions to transform KAFD’s urban experience, serving as a model for other smart city projects across the Kingdom.

SCAI will collaborate with KAFD to implement a Smart Traffic Management (STM) platform to streamline traffic flow monitoring through a data-driven approach. Concurrently, the smart city project includes the integration of a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform, which utilizes user transportation patterns to inform future planning. Riyadh, 13 September 2022 The Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (“PIF”), which aims to foster innovation in strategic sectors and accelerate key national technological priorities in Saudi Arabia , has announced its investment with a value of SAR 776 million with SenseTime Group through a joint venture to establish SenseTime MEA, and work to build a sophisticated AI lab, create highly skilled jobs for talented Saudis, and contribute to positioning Saudi Arabia as the region’s leading AI-tech hub.

SCAI will work closely with SenseTime to develop solutions across diverse areas, including but not limited to the smart city, business intelligence, healthcare, and education domains, as well as localize the company’s cutting-edge computer vision and deep learning platform to enable the creation of intellectual properties which will be of immense benefit to the Kingdom and the region. The AI lab will serve as a dedicated research and development center, allowing the next generation of data scientists to benefit from the transfer of technology and SenseTime’s extensive expertise in the field.

The partnership’s corporate vehicle, SenseTime MEA, is set to focus on empowering the local AI ecosystem by building capabilities in computer vision and driving innovation in the AI and emerging technologies sectors.

SCAI Signs MoU with Intelmatix for Collaboration in Decision Intelligence

Riyadh, 27 March 2022 As part of its ongoing efforts to encourage innovation in data, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart cities, the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intelmatix, decision intelligence and advanced technologies. The signing took place on the closing day of the Smart Cities Business Accelerator Program, organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), on Thursday, 21st Shaaban 1443, and saw the attendance of Dr. Abdullah Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of SDAIA.

The MoU will help pave the way for new opportunities in the field of AI applications, propelling the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the Kingdom. It will facilitate collaboration between the two companies across multiple domains, including the utilization of decision intelligence and AI technology products across diverse sectors.

This agreement is a direct outcome of SDAIA's unwavering support for innovation in the fields of data sciences, AI, smart cities, data analysis, and advanced technologies in the Kingdom. It reflects SDAIA's dedication to establishing a conducive environment that nurtures and bolsters the sector through high-quality standards and projects.

Eng. Ayman Al-Rashed, CEO of SCAI, emphasized Intelmatix’s role as a regional leader in decision intelligence and deep technologies. He also highlighted the partnership’s importance to SCAI’s comprehensive sector collaboration strategy.
